Okinawa Open Days (OOD) is Japan's only international conference that brings together leaders in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), which is attracting attention as a next-generation ICT platform technology, and cloud technology based on open source software.
It was first held in 2013, and its popularity has grown over time with 815 participants at the 3rd event held in 2015, enabling distinguished industry leaders from Taiwan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Australia, the United States, Canada, Sweden and Israel to meet together.
The program will feature not only presentations, but opportunities for practical community exchange through hands-on, BoF and user meetings, as well as a program contest held as part of human resource training.
The Okinawa Open Laboratory that sponsors OOD is a unique research and development institution worldwide that aims to demonstrate and spread next-generation ICT platform technology through opening its research results such as those related to the fusion of SDN and cloud technology and specific user cases. It can be said that this conference is a a culmination of its activities, and has been attracting attention as a major event where the current situation and future of next-generation ICT platform technology can be seen.
Okinawa Open Laboratory will host Okinawa Open Days 2016 at Okinawa Jichikaikan from December 5th to 8th.
The topic for this year ’s Okinawa Open Days will be “the concentration of world-changing open technology and ideas.” We look forward to your participation.
ICT infrastructure technology has been experiencing a steady trend in favor of open-source development and software. In a variety of areas, this phenomenon has been exerting an effect on technology and business, as well as on service users and providers/operators. Furthermore, the scope of applications has been expanding to new use cases such as IoT. Change is happening daily.
All sessions in the 7 and 8 December Jichikaikan Hall program will include simultaneous interpretation between Japanese and English.
